The commission was initially skeptical of the solar installation, but they were quickly convinced by the USA-made black-on-black solar panels. The commission stated they liked the look of the solar panels and did not think the panels would hurt the historic look of the home.
Their solar panels will offset more than 100% of the household’s annual energy usage and save an estimated $20,000 on energy bills in the first 10 years. That’s upwards of $50,000 over the next 25 years. And as energy prices continue to increase due to inflation, those savings will only grow bigger and bigger.
