Oregon Pacific Power customers may be eligible for backup power rebates and not even know it!
That’s because Pacific Power offers qualifying Oregon customers up to $1,000 in rebates toward eligible backup power equipment, while certain licensed care facilities can qualify for rebates of up to $4,000.
Pacific Power says the rebates are intended to help eligible customers who rely on electricity for medical needs prepare for future outages with qualifying batteries, portable power stations and permanent backup generators.
For homeowners who rely on electricity for important medical needs, the program could make backup power significantly more affordable. And even for Oregonians who don’t qualify for the rebate, it highlights a larger question worth considering:

How Much Are Pacific Power’s Backup Power Rebates?
Pacific Power’s Backup Electric Power Rebate Program has been available since 2023. Since its launch, Pacific Power says it has distributed 421 rebates totaling more than $1.2 million.
The current program offers two primary rebate levels:
- Up to $1,000 for qualifying residential customers
- Up to $4,000 for eligible licensed care facilities

Who Qualifies for the Battery Rebate?
It’s important to note that the $1,000 rebate is not available to every Pacific Power customer.
Residential applicants must have an active Pacific Power account, either directly or as a tenant of a Pacific Power customer, and must be enrolled in both:
- Pacific Power’s Medical Certificate Program
- Pacific Power’s Oregon Low Income Discount Program
Customers must also purchase qualifying backup power equipment and meet the program’s other requirements.
Eligible licensed residential care homes, care facilities, adult foster homes and hospices may qualify for rebates of up to $4,000.

Deadlines & How to Apply
For the current program year, eligible equipment must be purchased by December 31, 2026.
Pacific Power must receive the completed application and purchase receipt by January 31, 2027.
Rebates are offered on a first-come, first-served basis until the program’s annual funding is exhausted, so customers who believe they qualify should review Pacific Power’s requirements before purchasing equipment.
